Ungreateful tied hands

How tranquil the painter upon the hill

Backdrop of Mountains overlooking ocean

Such gifts he is given

Standing in tall grass where tall trees once stood

I need to create but this canvass is not mine

These tools are forced on me by bigger people

The frame is cheap pine and weak joined

The canvass unevenly stretched with too little gesso

Two colors on a plastic pallet

One brush

What joy if there is no freedom

So I paint a cave within a Mountain cove

A place to hide

A place to hibernate

…and the painter is gone

Fleeting was the peace with my mind. A hungry fire that drown in its own ash.

*08/09/08 - The time to discover that your shirt is not bee proof is not after you upset the Queen in an open hive. Thirty to Forty stings later I need antihistamine!

*05/13/08 - ALWAYS tape the bottom of your pant legs when inspecting bee hives. Unless you want to end up like me. My pants & drawers down at my ankles. slapping my butt to dislodge a bee from a very private spot. All while standing in the middle of the back yard for the neighbors to see!

*04/30/08 - I tell you I'm dangerous. Next time I try to replace the bearing in my Palm Sander I must remember to UNPLUG it first! I 'bout ripped my hand off.

*02/20/08 - The switch in the laundry room broke. I had to kill the power at the breaker to replace the switch. The previous owners never mapped the circuits. Which means I had to experiment. I would trip a breaker then test the line with a voltage detector. The detector never sounded it's alarm. I thought the line was dead. I began to remove the wires to the switch. Then I noticed the detector was OFF! I flipped it ON. Oops! wrong breaker. The line was hot. Lucky to be here...

*02/07/08 - There's nothing like a wind storm to teach a person what is securely tied down & what isn't. Now please excuse me while I go get my canoe out of the woods.

*02/06/08 - Three things about art auctions at a liberal arts high schools. 1). I couldn't tell you what I was eating except that it was delicious. 2). Office-casual is way to formal, should've worn the Hawaiian shirt. 3). You'll need a good & strong cigar. To defend yourself from the patchouli cloud.

*01/20/08 - I find that when I hit the Wall I: 1). Tend to down an ocean of tea, 2). Clean my workshop like a stuttering tornado, & 3). just build stuff till I pass out from exhaustion.
